Hey all :)
Sorry I'm a little late in my post today, we were super busy today...
We left El Jardin later than we planned and had to scramble to get a move on this morning... But our arrival in Nvo Valentin was awaited with baited breathe, their were lines of children and moms outside the church awaiting all the fun and crafts we'd brought for that day...
The morning was slow to start due to a mini heat wave into the high 90s today that really set our group, who had been experiencing temperatures in the mid 80s, back. We played with bubbles, jump ropes, silly bands with the children in the morning... And we learned that all three are universally well liked by children... Here are some of the pictures I took of the kids...

We did all this while the men kept working on the church...

We also prepped the big church lunch tomorrow for us, and the entire church congregation, that was part of why we were late this morning actually, we had 10 live chickens in the bird cages at El Jardin that we will be eating tomorrow, they had to be rang led into boxes for transport this morning... And they will be killed and plucked in Nvo Valentin, the women of the congregation, ESP El pastor's wife Reyna cooked and prepped all day, they pealed potatoes, boiled rice, and so on and so forth all day...
It was in observing all of this that I met the most interesting house pet ever... El Pastor, Pastor Clever and his wife Reyna, and their children have in their home a pet SLOTH!!!! Living on a tree branch in the corner of their main room... He didn't have a name before we got there but Pastor Clever has since named him after Jack, the missions director of their partner church in Charleston, Jack organizes the Charleston's church's visits to Peru ...
Oh by the way a sloth in Peru is called a Perizosa, or essentially 'Lazy' in Spanish
Here are my pictures of the sloth...

Pastor Clever said we could hold him... But I figured it was best to let him enjoy himself in his own little corner plus his claws kinda scary me, but he's so cute at the same time....
After our work was done we headed back to El Jardin and cleaned up, had dinner, and then the real fun began... We had to prep for the medical clinic tomorrow where three nurses from the local Iquitos hospital will hand out everything from victims to anti-parasite medication... We had to bag all the medicine so that's why my post is so late...
Here are some other pictures from today...

Oh to be an INTERN!!! Lol look at that view behind us :)
Today's inspiration would be Ben lol because he makes me laugh when I think I might cry... It can get a little overwhelming when everyone calling your name, and asking you questions in multiple languages and oh wait wanting you to tell them what needs to get done, and then going about it their own way despite directions... Lol but all it takes is one good joke from ben or maybe all it takes is song while playing the guitar
